Ski Race Training 2008
The Cardrona High Performance Centre houses the Cardrona Ski Team, which is a fully tiered race training programme that caters for entry level racers right through to elite FIS athletes. Our programmes range from fulltime through to weekend groups. They contain physical training and other sports science support as well as long term training options and planning.
The programme has been hugely successful with an outstanding record of results throughout New Zealand and attracting a following of athletes from all over the world. The success of the programme is due to the expertise of our well known coaches who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Wanaka FIS Series Cardrona Slalom & Giant Slalom 5th & 6th August 2008
The newly formed High Performance Centre New Zealand (HPCNZ) Men's and Women's teams dominated the podium during the Wanaka FIS Teck Series, taking away two golds and a silver at the Slalom race held at Cardrona on Tuesday and a gold, a silver and a bronze in the Giant Slalom on Wednesday. Cardrona's HPCNZ Women's Team member Sibyl Kaech of Swizterland won the women's slalom event. Ruedi Von Kanel, also training with HOCNZ won the men's, with HPCNZ Men's Team coach Urs Imboden taking up second place on the podium. Ruedi Von Kanel also took away the gold in the Giant Slalom race, Sibyl Kaech received the silver and Lucy Tait-Jamieson came away with the bronze medal in the women's GS event.
